Built in the
mid-1880s and renovated in the Edwardian style around 1914,
this historic homestead offers a warm welcome, comfortable beds and spacious
rooms.
The bedrooms have tea/coffee facilities,
hairdryers and electric blankets, toiletries and fresh
flowers. The house is centrally heated and the rimu-panelled lounge is cosy in winter with the woodburner
fire - just the place to relax with a complimentary wine
and a book from the extensive library.
During the warmer months,
swim in the pool (built in the 1950s but recently
refurbished), take forty winks on the wide verandah or
under one of the old established trees or sit in
the peaceful gardens and watch the historic Waimarie
paddlesteamer cruise the Whanganui River
The
homestead has a fully-equipped guest kitchen as well as a barbecue on the verandah, giving you the choice
of self-catering for lunch and dinner. The tariff
includes the use of all facilities including
broadband/wireless internet.
Wanganui's
restaurants are just 4km away. |
